GLOBAL FINTECH LAB

Global Fintech Lab · Future Money

Researching future money.
Preparing for its possibilities.

Global Fintech Lab (GFL) researches why future money emerges, whether its emergence may become inevitable, and why researching and preparing future monetary designs in advance is necessary.

We examine how today's financial technology and artificial intelligence in finance can provide the technical foundations, support, security and safeguards for future money. Gathering, analysing, researching and sharing information are methods serving this mission.

01 / EMERGENCE

Why future money?

Investigating the economic, social, institutional and technological forces that could make new forms of money necessary. Inevitability is a thesis to examine against evidence, alternatives and counterarguments.

02 / PREPARATION

Why prepare now?

Studying why monetary designs need advance research, and how to assess their objectives, governance, feasibility and consequences before implementation becomes urgent.

03 / FOUNDATIONS

What can technology enable?

Evaluating how fintech and AI in finance could support future monetary systems, and which security measures, institutional safeguards and human oversight they would require.

An open research question.

Future money refers here to possible new forms, arrangements and systems of money. No particular design, technology or timetable is assumed to be predetermined. Our work considers both transformation and the capacity of existing systems to adapt.

Evidence before conclusions.

Planned Daily briefs, Weekly studies and Future Money Reviews will connect selected evidence to this research mission. Each requires traceable sources, explicit uncertainty, human editorial review and publication rights checks. Read the editorial policy.
